BTS’ Jungkook slated to release new single, ‘Never Let Go’

Jung Kook’s new single “Never Let Go”—the BTS singer’s first solo track this year and first since the release of his 2023 LP, Golden—will be released next week.

Big Hit Music revealed on Sunday that Jung Kook’s next song would be released on June 7, coinciding with this year’s BTS Festa, which will be held a week later in Seoul, South Korea.

According to BTS’ record company, “Never Let Go” serves as “a track dedicated to their fans, ARMY, conveying a sincere message to never let go of each other.” The track, released on the tenth anniversary of BTS’ first album, Dark & Wild, “will serve as a gesture of appreciation and love for ARMY worldwide.”

“Never Let Go” will be a fan song honoring Jungkook’s appreciation for the unconditional love of the Army, the official BTS fans. In the song, he describes “never letting go of each other’s hands.” The fan song will be published as part of BTS’s annual 2024 Festa, commemorating the group’s inception on June 13.

Jin, freed from the army only one day before the festival, will attend the yearly event to meet with 1,000 admirers in Seoul. His other bandmates are still active in the military. Jin also hopes to release a new solo album shortly.

J-Hope will be released from the military and able to return to work in October.

“It can also help Hybe strengthen its grip over seven music subsidiaries that Ador’s struggle has affected. “I am confident Hybe has considered all of these factors and prepared adequately,” the critic remarked.

The 2024 BTS Festa will begin on June 13, with Jin, who has just finished his required military duty, at the center of the festivities. “Jin will give a light hug to each of the 1,000 fans onsite,” HYBE and Big Hit Music said Saturday. “The event was prepared according to Jin’s wish to greet and interact with fans in a more personal setting.”

They said, “In return for the Army’s steadfast support, Jin has chosen the offline event as his first official appearance after the end of his service commitment. Jin’s arrival is expected to signify a highly anticipated next chapter for BTS, assuaging anxieties over the group’s required military period.
