Cyndi Lauper announces her farewell tour Dates

Girls just wanna tour: Cyndi Lauper will embark on a three-month farewell tour this autumn, the pop queen revealed Monday

The “Girls Just Want to Have Fun” and “Time After Time” singer, the focus of a new Paramount+ documentary, will begin her farewell tour on October 18 at the Bell Centre in Montreal. According to Monday’s announcement, the 23-date tour will visit key cities throughout the United States, including her homeland of New York City, with a Madison Square Garden event on Oct. 30. The tour will continue until December 5, when the Grammy winner will deliver his last gig in Chicago.

Earlier, on November 20, the 70-year-old will perform in the Viejas Arena at Aztec Bowl in San Diego; the following day, on November 23, at the brand new Intuit Dome in Inglewood; on November 24, at the Acrisure Arena in Palm Desert; and finally, on November 26, at the Chase Center in San Francisco.

An artist presale will begin on Tuesday, and tickets will go on sale this week.

Concert and tour producer Live Nation announced that the public sale of tickets will start on Friday. Later on, Lauper will reveal the special guests that will be accompanying them on tour. Before her tour begins in the fall, the singer will perform at several festivals, including Glastonbury in the United Kingdom, Rock in Rio in Brazil, and London’s Royal Albert Hall.

“Girls Just Want to Have Fun” from the 1980s pop icon’s debut album, “She’s So Unusual,” helped her earn a Best New Artist Grammy Award. The Brooklyn-born pop icon released the album, making history by becoming the first woman to have four top-five singles from an album.

The tour announcement by the “True Colors” singer came the day before her documentary, “Let the Canary Sing,” was set to premiere on Paramount+. Alison Ellwood, a multiple Emmy winner, directed the biopic that delves into the singer’s career and life; it made its world debut at the 2023 Tribeca Film Festival.

Last month, Lauper said, “People have asked me to do a documentary about my life and work for years, but the timing has never been right.” “That was before. Alison Ellwood earned my confidence from the meeting, and I knew she would convey my tale honestly—something that meant the world to me.

On Tuesday, an imprint ceremony will be honoring Lauper in Hollywood’s TCL Chinese Theatre to commemorate the tour and film.

Joining the annual Pride Parade in West Hollywood as the celebration’s Lifetime Ally Icon award, the Emmy and Tony Award-winning performer was in attendance throughout the weekend. Lauper has been a strong voice for LGBTQ+ rights, social justice, and women’s problems for many years, and this honor is a testimony to that.
