Selena Gomez Opens Up About Her Family Plans While Addressing Uncertainty Over Future Tours: ‘It Is Very Emotionally Draining for Me’

Selena Gomez is adored worldwide for her singing prowess and recognized for her exceptional acting abilities, having made appearances in various TV series and films. She began her entertainment career at a young age, initially starring as Gianna in the beloved preschool children’s TV show “Barney & Friends.”

From that point forward, she steadily rose to fame, never relinquishing her passion for acting. Selena Gomez has since been featured in numerous movies.

Although Selena Gomez hasn’t entirely ruled out the possibility of touring, it doesn’t seem likely in the foreseeable future.

In a cover story interview with TIME, the founder of Rare Beauty shared her thoughts on potentially going on tour again.

“Nothing brings me more joy than spending 90 minutes with my fans, celebrating together,” Gomez explained to the outlet, discussing why she feels ambivalent about the idea.

“It is very emotionally exhausting for me. And then you realize you’re surrounded by a group of people you’re compensating,” added Gomez.

Gomez, who has previously been candid about her mental health, elaborated on being intentional about how and with whom she spends her time.

“It’s a saying, but girls can be unkind,” she mentioned. “There’s an odd competition in being part of the ‘cool girls’ group—and I often feel out of place. I’m not sure where I truly fit in.”

Gomez added about her closest friends, including a real estate agent, “I enjoy having down-to-earth people around who don’t care at all about my fame.”

Gomez occasionally experiences feelings of loneliness, but she strongly believes in embracing your emotions.

“It’s challenging,” she mentioned. “People can surround you yet still feel isolated. I continue to struggle with that.”

Although Gomez doesn’t have immediate plans for touring, she’s remained occupied with various projects. Earlier this month, she participated in the Cannes Film Festival to promote her latest film, Emilia Pérez.

Gomez plays the spouse of notorious drug cartel boss Manitas in the movie “Emilia Pérez,” which stars Spanish actress Karla Sofa Gascón. Manitas seeks assistance from lawyer Rita, portrayed by Saldaña, to undergo a confidential sex change operation to become a woman as he nears retirement from his criminal activities.

In March, Gomez confirmed the ongoing production of the popular Hulu series “Only Murders in the Building,” where she shares the screen with Steve Martin and Martin Short. Simultaneously, fans eagerly anticipate the much-rumored revival of “Wizards of Waverly Place,” in which Gomez will once again take on the role of Alex Russo, the independent family wizard.

When she’s not working, she spends time with lover Benny Blanco, and in her cover story interview, she spoke openly about their relationship with the public.

“I know what people can do to people I love,” she told the newspaper. “My own fans, whom I respect and believe have formed who I am, will say the most terrible things to me about the way I live. But he has enough power that none of that sounds bother him.”

Gomez said, “It’s incredibly incredible, and I simply appreciate every time with him. I’m not sure what the future holds, but I know he’s not going away anytime soon.
