Get ready for a wave of collaborations from Joe Jonas. In a recent interview, the Jonas Brothers member revealed exciting details about his forthcoming second solo album, Music for People Who Believe in Love, which is set to feature an array of guest artists.
“We packed it with features,” shared Jonas, 34. “I reached out to various artists because I wanted to incorporate different narratives, voices, and plenty of duets into the album.”
Jonas explained that some tracks seemed to need another voice to fully capture their essence. “A lot of this album involves speaking in the third person or having a conversation with a fictional version of myself or someone else in my life. Having those voices brought to life by other artists was really special.”
During a July appearance on Jake Shane’s Therapuss podcast, Jonas disclosed that he collaborated with talents like Alexander 23, MUNA’s Josette Maskin, Jason Evigan, Tommy English, and Paris Carney to create Music for People Who Believe in Love.
Also in July, Jonas released the album’s lead single, “Work It Out,” a track originally intended for the Jonas Brothers. However, Joe felt a strong personal connection to the song and requested Nick and Kevin’s blessing to use it for his solo project.
Reflecting on this decision, Joe said on Therapuss, “I was listening to the song and thought, ‘Damn, I really like this.’ It didn’t quite fit with the Jonas Brothers or DNCE, another band I’m part of, but I knew I wanted to work on it. I felt an emotional pull to create music on my own.”
After discussing it with his brothers, Joe received their full support. “Nick was busy with a movie, and Kevin was preparing for another season of Claim to Fame, so I had a window of time to dive into this project. Once I had their blessing, the album came together in just 2–3 weeks,” he said, adding, “It’s the most personal music I’ve ever released.”
Music for People Who Believe in Love is slated for release on October 18 through Republic Records.
