Global Citizen 2024 is adding even more star power to its already impressive lineup. The festival, set to take place in New York City’s Central Park on Saturday, September 28, will feature rising stars, Benson Boone and Raye, joining an already stellar cast that includes Post Malone, Doja Cat, Jelly Roll, and Rauw Alejandro.
“I’m honored to be part of Global Citizen’s mission to end extreme poverty,” said Boone, 22. “Let’s unite to make a real difference in the world.” The event aims to bring awareness to global issues, with notable figures such as Antoni Porowski, Bill Nye, Bridget Moynahan, and Danai Gurira also joining as presenters.
Global Citizen Ambassador Hugh Jackman will host the festival, expressing his excitement: “I’m thrilled to be returning as host of the Global Citizen Festival this fall.”
The festival will also see appearances by environmental icon Dr. Jane Goodall and Coldplay’s Chris Martin. This year, the event is stepping up its sustainability efforts by utilizing a SmartGrid battery system for power, a move that aligns with the festival’s commitment to eco-friendly practices.
In addition to the festival, Global Citizen will kick off Climate Week with a beach clean-up on September 21 in partnership with Jamaica Bay Rockaway Parks Conservancy. The organization emphasizes that 2024 is a pivotal year for addressing extreme poverty and supporting frontline organizations.
Tickets to the festival are available for free through action-based campaigns, reflecting Global Citizen’s dedication to encouraging meaningful participation. Last year, over 4 million actions were taken to support these critical causes.
