Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce get nominations for the 2024 Kids’ Choice Awards (Exclusive)

Taylor Swift is the top individual nominee for the 2024 Kids’ Choice Awards, with six nominations. Beyoncé, Miley Cyrus, Olivia Rodrigo, and Justin Timberlake follow her on Nick’s slime-coated scorecard, each with four nods.

Swift had the most nominations this year, with six overall, in categories such as favorite female artist, favorite music collaboration, favorite album, favorite global music star, and best ticket of the year.

Kelce, a first-time candidate, competes with Patrick Mahomes, Cristiano Ronaldo, LeBron James, Lionel Messi, and Stephen Curry for the title of favorite sports star.  The NFL star is one of nearly 50 first-time nominations from cinema, television, music, sports, and other industries.

Women have dominated the pop landscape in recent years; therefore, it is only natural that women lead the nominees in gender-neutral categories such as favorite album, favorite song, favorite ticket of the year, and best global music superstar.

Women take six of the eight spots for their favorite songs. Beyoncé, Eilish, Dua Lipa, Cyrus, Doja Cat, and Ariana Grande compete for the prize with Luke Combs and Timberlake. Beyoncé, Grande, and Eilish have each won this award twice before. If any of them win again this year, they would join Harry Styles as the category’s only three-time winner (since 1988). Styles won twice with One Direction and once on his solo, with “As It Was” during last year’s ceremony.

The battle for the favorite female performer is tremendous. Five of the eight nominations are previous category winners – Grande (five times), Selena Gomez (four times), Cyrus and Swift (all twice), Beyoncé (once), and three newcomers: Eilish, Cardi B, and Rodrigo.

Timberlake was nominated for three music awards: Favorite Male Artist (which he won in 2007 and 2014), Favorite Song for “Selfish,” and Favorite Music Group (which the boy band won in 1999). On the cinematic front, he is nominated for favorite male voice in an animated picture for Trolls Band Together.

The Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards 2024 will be aired live on the East Coast on Saturday, July 13, at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Nickelodeon, Nicktoons, TeenNick, the Nick Jr. channel, TV Land, CMT, and MTV2. This is the first time that virtual characters have presented the program.

This year honors the 25th anniversary of SpongeBob SquarePants, which debuted on Nickelodeon as a sneak peek following the Kids’ Choice Awards on May 1, 1999, and was formally launched on July 17, the same year. The 2024 Kids’ Choice Awards will recreate SpongeBob SquarePants’ underwater home, Bikini Bottom.

The Kids’ Choice Awards, replete with green slime and Nick’s distinctive orange blimp prize, have long been a popular draw among young viewers. The concert will take place in UCLA’s Pauley Pavilion for the first time since 2010 and the eleventh overall.

Beginning the next day, fans in the United States may vote in 33 categories at the official Kids’ Choice Awards website, KidsChoiceAwards.com. International markets will also begin voting today, with additional regional categories.

Ashley Kaplan, executive vice president of Nickelodeon & Awesomeness Unscripted & Digital Franchise Studio, Paul J. Medford, vice president of unscripted current series, Luke Wahl, vice president of unscripted creative, Jennifer Bryson, vice president of production, tentpoles, events, music, and specials, and Ellen Rydzewski, senior vice president of celebrity, events, and talent, oversee Nickelodeon Productions, which produces the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Guy Carrington and Kevin Hermanson of Done and Dusted serve as executive producers, with Rob Paine as co-executive producer.
