"Not pregnant," she said. "Just down bad cryin' at the gym"

“Not pregnant,” Gaga wrote. “I just had a bad cry at the gym.” The lyric “just down bad cryin’ at the gym” originates from the Tortured Poets song “Down Bad,” in which Swift sings, “Now I’m down bad crying at the gym.

By Wednesday morning, Swift had published a remark on Gaga’s TikTok defending herself against people who speculated about her appearance. “Can we all agree that it is invasive and irresponsible to comment on a woman’s body?” Swift said this in her letter. “Gaga doesn’t owe anyone an explanation, and neither does any woman.”

Gaga initially captioned the photo with a link to HeadCount, asking supporters to “register to vote or check if you’re registered” ahead of this year’s election.

Fans speculated about Gaga’s pregnancy after seeing photographs of her wearing a short black dress and pearls to her sister’s wedding in Maine over the weekend.

During the premiere of her Gaga Chromatica Ball performance video, Gaga said that she was “in the studio every single day” as she prepared to go on a new musical journey.

“I like breaking down genres and exploring music. “There’s something really beautiful about knowing that no matter what you do, you’ll be loved,” she stated in a question and answer with Access Hollywood’s Scott Evans before the film’s showing.

In March, Gaga said that she has been “writing some of my best music in as long as I can remember.” Gaga has just announced the return of her Jazz and Piano event in Las Vegas, in which she sings jazz classics and songs from the Great American Songbook.

This item was amended at 12:35 p.m. ET to include Taylor Swift’s response to Lady Gaga’s TikTok video.
