In April, Jolie’s legal representatives submitted a request to disclose communications that, according to them, would demonstrate that Pitt would refuse to let her sell her share of the winery to him unless she consented to a broad non-disclosure agreement.

Pitt’s legal team requested that Judge Lia Martin order his former spouse to present the NDAs she had previously signed.

Angelina Jolie has been required to turn over several years’ worth of non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) in her ongoing dispute with her ex-husband Brad Pitt regarding their jointly owned winery.

A Los Angeles Superior Court Judge on Thursday, May 16, approved Pitt’s request requiring Jolie, 48, to submit all NDA agreements she signed with third parties from 2014 to 2022, according to documents obtained by Us Weekly.

The actress has been given a 60-day timeframe to provide the necessary paperwork. A source informs us that this decision is a significant legal setback for Jolie.

NDAs played a significant role in the conflict between the former couple over the Chateau Miraval winery when Jolie alleged that she decided against selling her share of the enterprise to Pitt, 60 after he asked her to sign a mutual non-disparagement agreement.

Jolie, who transferred her Miraval stakes to Russian mogul Yuri Shefler in 2021, contended in a prior motion that Pitt’s demand made their agreement not to sell shares without mutual consent “unreasonable” and “invalid.”

Pitt’s attorneys countered that Jolie’s defense lost credibility due to her frequent use of NDAs. They asserted that Jolie accused Pitt of trying to be controlling with his proposed NDA merely to justify her “improper sale” of her Miraval share.

“If Jolie has compelled others to sign NDAs that are at least as extensive as the one she now describes as ‘unconscionable,’ it would significantly weaken her rationale for halting discussions with Pitt,” the filing contended.

Pitt’s attorneys also stated that Jolie requested Pitt sign a “broader mutual non-disparagement agreement” concerning the “finalization of their divorce” shortly before she sold her Miraval shares, which happened less than six months later.

Jolie countered by arguing that the NDAs they want her to present are not relevant to her lawsuit against Pitt, but Judge Lia Martin rejected her claim on Tuesday.

The ruling states that the requests are designed to uncover documents that will determine if Jolie was genuinely so upset by the proposed NDA that she felt justified in breaking her contract with Pitt to sell to the Stoli Parties, or if her defense is merely an excuse.

Julie must submit all proposed NDAs, whether they were her own or someone else’s, by the predetermined deadline, regardless of their state of completion. She must also submit NDAs that her managed companies have signed, as well as documents outlining the justifications for these requests.

The recent ruling marks the latest development in the prolonged and complicated legal dispute between Jolie and Pitt. Pitt filed a lawsuit against Jolie in February 2022, alleging that she had broken their agreement by selling her Miraval shares to Tenute Del Mondo, the Shefler-owned wine division of the Stoli group, without his consent.

Jolie and Pitt, after a decade-long relationship, got married at Miraval Chateau in August 2014, several years after they acquired a controlling interest in the wine company in 2008. They separated in late 2016 and were declared officially single in 2019.
