There is only one gift that could possibly qualify as the “ideal” present for dad over the holiday season, and it’s possible that this year’s winner will be a movie that he hasn’t seen before. The legendary action movie Highlander, which was released in the 1980s, will be released on 4K on December 13, just in time for the holidays this year.

‘Highlander’ Brings a Kind of Magic

The film Highlander narrates the narrative of Connor MacLeod, a Scotsman who is killed in a fight set deep within the highlands of the Scottish Highlands. Christopher Lambert plays the role of Connor MacLeod. However, his relatives do not lament Connor’s passing; rather, they lament the witchcraft that was responsible for resurrecting him after he had been presumed dead. As it turns out, Connor MacLeod can’t die, and joining him in his endless existence is Juan Ramrez, whose role was performed by the legendary Sean Connery. Connor and Juan have an immortal life together.

Soon after, Ramrez becomes MacLeod’s friend and enlightens him on what it truly means to be eternal. However, when millennia pass without consequence, Connor MacLeod and the other immortals find themselves pulled to New York City. There, only one of them will be granted the Prize, and the rest will perish in the process (and heads). Since its initial debut in 1986, the movie has gone on to achieve legendary status, and it has been the inspiration for a film and television franchise that has amassed millions of followers all over the world.
