The singer and actress glided over the stage, set up as a misty rooftop, wearing a sparkling mask with cat ears for the occasion. “The boy is mine/I can’t wait to try him/Let’s getting intertwined/The stars, they aligned,” Grande sang, before repeating herself, “The boy is mine/Watch me take my time.”

Before her performance, Grande spoke with Jimmy Fallon and expressed her enthusiasm about her part in Wicked, which opens on Thanksgiving, and her co-star Cynthia Erivo. When conversing with the presenter, she mentioned their previous Zoom conversation in 2021, and how she had to keep the news of her involvement in the film a secret.

“I was trying to tell you through the screen that I got it subliminally,” Grande said to Fallon. The presenter joked, “I knew it in my head, and I kept the secret as well.” Fallon then presented a tweet Grande sent in 2011.

“Enjoyed watching Wicked again, such a fantastic production! Made me realize how much I want to play Glinda at some time in my life! “#DreamRole,” the musician stated in the uncovered post. “It’s really weird to witness, of course, the reaction.

“This is something Cynthia and I experienced every day — the brilliant Cynthia Erivo,” Grande grinned. “And to share it with people and to feel the love that we’ve received in response has been really overwhelming.”

In other news, Grande spoke about her next music video for “The Boy Is Mine,” which will be released Friday. The singer teased the video last month with a scary film, and then on Monday, she hinted at Penn Badgley’s appearance with a TikTok showing the actor dancing to the song’s chorus.

When chatting with Fallon, Grande stated that Badgley will appear in the next video, along with additional appearances that have yet to be revealed. “The video stars Penn Badgley, who I’ve been a fan of my entire life,” Grande said. “It was wonderful to work with him. I’m really honored to work with him.”
